PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
The video clips in this section are copies I made from the Super-8 footage I shot while serving on the Adams. The copy system I used was VERY basic; an old Super-8 movie projector, a section of foam core poster board for a screen and an old (relatively speaking) digital camera which is supposed to be for still photography but is capable of making basic video clips. The Super-8 footage is old (1971 era) and faded and the transfer method resulted in the final clips doing a "flashing" cycle now and then. I purchased the Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD program for editing purposes. I mention this because it is fairly complex program which I am still trying to learn and I'm certain that the editing could have been better. It will become better as I learn the program.
The original Super-8 footage was shot during the period immediately following the Adam's 1971 yard period, while we were in route to or at GETMO for training. I am keeping the comments simple, so I don't lose non-Naval viewers. For you former crewmen, if you see a serious mistake, let me know about it.
NOTE: The video player I am using loads the entire video clip before it starts playing, so there may be a delay when you go to the clip. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer and get a message asking what you want to do with the mp4 file, just let it open it - that is the video clip trying to run.
